I and my wife, Rita, made a visit to the mountains of Makwanpur in 2nd week of March, it was my 3rd visit and Rita’s was the first. In Makwanpur alone, we have 7 Churches and growing, we went there to show how much we care for them. It was really wonderful to receive their love. Sudip Praja, one of the local Church leader, assisted us visiting different places and homes.

God showed us some thing very important and need of Pastors there. I want to share them with you, so that we could be a part of the blessing.

We changed three buses to reach the first Church and it took us 10 hours. Road in the mountain is small so only Tata Sumo can run in the road. Rita got sick by the smells of tobacco in the car and threw out all the way. We stopped for the lunch at Bishnu house, who is a school teacher and one of our first batch students of the Bible college. Then we took a third bus in the roof top and it was really fun. We reach Pastor Chitra Church after hiking 2 hours where they gave us Chicken meat and Rice. We slept in the Church with just a blanket. It was windy and cold, you could hear the air whistle.

This was the bus running behind our Bus trying to over take us. If river overflows then you are done. You will have to stay stranded.

Next day we walked down the mountain and visited Sujan and his Children home with orphans. Entire village didn’t have electricity and running water. We shared cookies and took some photos and ate lunch. Sujan has started orphanage and currently there are 5 now. They do not have sufficient food to eat and clothes to wear. This orphanage is our second home, our first home is in Urlabari, which you know.

5 Orphans and other poor children are sheltered under Sujan's care. What a lovely innocent children. Can you be a guardian to them?

After lunch, took a bus and went further to the deep of the mountain jungle. We took a quick shower in the chill river before we hike thousand meter upward. We interacted with mountain people, prayed for sick, it was hot and sunny. River was cold, hike was hot, but mountain top was ok, it had a good weather. Most of the Children didn’t have proper clothes, they were very shy, gazed upon us from afar of. Children run away and hide when they saw us. What a nomadic life.

We stayed Sukraman’s house, who is the same Pastor beaten by the group of witch doctor some years before. Witch doctor was very afraid with the God of Sukraman and he hide himself in the cave for three days without food and water. Two years later Witch doctor accepted Jesus and asked forgiveness with Sukraman for what he did to him.

People sleep on floor without mattress and blanket. Now imagine your bed and their bed. So I was thinking of blessing them with 2 blanket to each person. This is what I want to discuss with you. I share this to you because I can’t do it alone. My heart broke when I saw brothers and sisters sleep in that condition, below the basic life line. Street Children in Kathmandu live better then them. Now one blanket is only 6 dollar. They even don’t have basic meal. We have a chance to bless them before our Lord Jesus Christ. In all of our journey, visits and talk, I found Pastors are very humble, tolerant and in need. One of the thing that quite surprise me and Rita was that those people didn’t have mattress to sleep on or blanket to cover the cold. I want to give you a photo here.

Helpless people. They need mattress and blankets. Let us remember the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Nepal. Let us share what God has give to us.

Helpless people. They need mattress and blankets. Let us remember the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Nepal. Let us share what God has give to us. You may not believe, but these are children of the local Pastor. They are forsaken, tortured for their faith and yet they never complaint. You can send used children clothes by air mail to Rita Rai, GPO 2623, Kathmandu, Nepal, Phone No. 977-984-161-8428

So I ask the names of the families with the Pastors that are in their Churches and here they are,  believing that God will give them not car, not computer, not I-Phone, not even shoes or suites, just two blankets.

(If you don’t want to read all of their names, just skip.)
